The feel

T-W-B means to turn back or return. Its small form tub means again and appears 102 times in the Gospels. Its best known form is tubu, turn around, the first word of Yeshua's preaching. The Qala says turn around where most translations say repent, because the root is about a change of direction.

In the Gospels the verb appears in the simple Peal, tab, to turn back or return, including the plural imperative tubu, turn around (Matthew 4:17).

From then on Yeshua began to proclaim, "Turn around, for the reign of the heavens has come near."

tubu, "turn around!" The plural imperative of tab, return. Most translations say repent here, and the proclamation opens with this call to change direction.

Matthew 13:45

Again, the reign of the heavens is like a merchant searching for fine pearls.

tub, "again." Here the root is a small adverb. Several parables in this chapter open with it, bringing the teaching round once more.

Matthew 26:42

Again, a second time, he went away and prayed, "My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, let your will be done."

tub, "again." In Gethsemane the word marks Yeshua going back a second time to the same prayer.

Practice

Stand up and turn around until you face where your back was. Name one small thing you will do differently today, and say aloud, tubu, turn around, the reign of the heavens has come near.
